2000 Special Events

Friday & Saturday May 12-13 Music Festival
Compete with other choral groups and instrumental groups from around Alabama during VisionLand's Music Festival. Competition will be held May 12, 2000 and winners will perform May 13, 2000.
Sunday May 14 Mother's Day
All mothers get in FREE when accompanied by another paying general admission guest! Season passport holders can participate in an essay contest. Write a 100-word essay explaining "Why my mother is special". Prizes to be announced. A lucky mother will receive the "Mom of the Day" award, and get special treatment during her visit to the park.
Monday May 29 Memorial Day
Join VisionLand for a Memorial Day salute for America's Veterans. The park will be filled with patriotic music all day.
Sunday June 11 Miss Alabama Day
Meet the contestants vying for the title of Miss Alabama 2000! Who knows, the next Miss America may be in the group. They'll join us for lunch, autographs, and fun!
Wednesday June 14 Flag Day
Wear red, white, or blue clothes and get $4 off general admission only. See the patriotic stage show, and enjoy patriotic music throughout the park all day long. The first 200 visitors will receive a special patriotic gift from VisionLand.
Sunday June 18 Father's Day
Fathers get in FREE when accompanied by another paying guest. Witness the second annual "Strong Man" competition. Dads can show off their brute strength and win cool VisionLand prizes! Sponsored by Powerhouse Gym.
Saturday June 24 Girl Scout Day
Take this opportunity to join girl scouts, their friends, and family for a fun-filled day at VisionLand. A special "Summer Fun At VisionLand" badge can be earned!
Tuesday July 4 Independence Day
Join us for Fireworks over VisionLand! Wear red, white, and blue clothes and receive $4 off general admission only! There will be patriotic souvenirs, decorations, and music, and special performances to celebrate our independence such as the 151st Army band from Montgomery, Alabama, and more!
Monday September 4 Labor Day
Represent your place of work in a place of fun! Spend Labor Day at VisionLand!
Thursdays-Sundays November 25-December 17 Holiday at the Park
Walk in a winter VisionLand amidst one million twinkling lights with rides, holiday merchandise and foods, and Holiday music performances. Thursdays through Sundays only, 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
